How do you paint in Corel Painter Essentials without going over the lines? I just got a wacom bamboo fun, and I want to color a picture to post on deviantart. But whenever I try to color a picture on Corel Painter Essentials that came with it, i foes over the lines and you can't see them! How to I stop that from happening? I think it has something to do with layers, but I can't figure out how to make them work. 10 points to the best answer!

Why is my drawing in Painter Essentials pixelated? I have Painter Essentials 4, and every time I zoom in my sketch appears pixelated. Right now, my canvas size is 350x500 pixels per inch and the resolution is 300 ppi. Also it's 684 K. I'm wondering if these settings need to be changed. I recently got the program, because it came with my tablet, and it works great with scanned pictures, but I'd like to be able to use it more like Photoshop or an acryllic painting; Corel doesn't let you color solids on solids, and doesn't even let you paint solid colors. Everything just gets darker and darker. Is it a preference? Can I fix that? Or should I just give up and buy a Photoshop package?

For example, as it is, if I were to color something on one layer red, and on another layer blue, everywhere it overlaps will be purple. I don't want that. Corel Painter Essentials 4 Help? I just recently got Corel Painter Essentials 4 for my macbook. Whenever I open the application, the brush drawer thing (that opens and closes the brush drawer) is there. When I open it, everything is fine. Once I click a brush, the brush drawer closes and the brush drawer open/close button completely dissapears and I can't get the brush drawer back until I close and re-open the program. Corel Painter Essentials 4 is shutting itself down.? Whenever I open the picture I want to edit in Corel Painter Essentials 4, the program shuts itself down. The only things I could think of that could cause this is the picture's too huge (2496x3248 pixels) or the layer I'm working on is, for some reason, not working (under layers, the normally gray picture that appears next to "Layer 1" is red).

Why is my tablet pen not working (in Corel Painter Essentials 4)? I'm using the Intuos3 tablet for the first time. All I did was choose the Pencil tool in Corel, and every time I try to use the pen, there's a short line appearing next to the point, and the pen doesn't work.... Sketching with a mouse works just fine, so I think I accidentally messed something up. Help?

They see the same, but they have each have their own program. One with Photoshop and one with Corel. The one with photoshop is more expensive but I'm willing to pay if it's a better program. Corel Painter Essentials 2 color help? I recently bought a wacom graphics tablet that came with corel painter essentials 2 but the color pallet is messed up. the only available colours on the palette range from light teal to dark blue. it's as if there was some duotone filter on that won't allow any other colors to be chosen. when i use the color picker it has all the normal colors like white or red but they don't show up that way when i select them, the primary and secondary colors are still teal or blue and all the pictures i paste on the canvas are also changed into the teal/blue colors. does anyone know how to set the colors back to normal or is this something screwed up with the software itself?

Corel Painter Essentials 4.0 installation problem!? So I ordered a Wacom Bamboo Pad, and it came with a CD with Corel Painter Essentials 4.0. The Bamboo Pad installed fine, but when I put in the 2nd disc that had Corel on it, the computer wouldn't even read the disc. I'm at a loss for what the issue is... I have a Dell Dimension 8200 if that helps. So whats the problem?

Corel Painter Essentials 4 a good temporary substitute? When I purchased my Wacom Intuos 3 tablet it came with full versions of a few different programs. One of those programs is Corel Painter Essentials 4. I thought to look it up and found out that it isn't as fancy as the newer Corel Painter 11 (which I plan on buying) which is around $400. But, since I'm sill recovering from buying my tablet I don't plan on buying the better version for at least a little while, so my question is: Is the Corel Painter Essentials a good temporary substitute for doing digital art? I don't want it for editing photos. I've been using Photoshop for years now, but have discovered Corel Painter not too long ago and found various reviews saying that Corel is more ideal for digital art than Photoshop (which is why I am eager to start using Corel Painter).

Hello, I have a new art program called Corel Essentials Painter 4, and I can't figure out how to use this program completely. So for those who have the same program and may be able to help me, that would be wonderful! =D Okay, I have made 2 images with the program and looks great! One is the main picture, so it's large of course. And the other is just a small picture that I want to put in the larger one. But I want to see through the smaller picture, like it's transparent. So I am wanting to paste the smaller picture onto the main picture. And I want the smaller picture transparent so it can blend in with the main picture's background color. As if someone was having a flash back of a lost friend, and you see a transparent picture of that person in the picture. (Yeah, that's what my picture is based on) So the main question is, if you think you understand the situation, how do I make an image transparent onto another image? 0__o;

Trouble Installing Corel Painter Essentials 4.0 For Windows Vista? Hello, I have recently purchased a Wacom Bamboo Pen Tablet. I've been trying to install the "bundle software" that came with it, the Corel Painter. Every time I go to install the software, the window that pops up would have, "Corel Painter Essentials 4 Initializing: please wait", shortly afterward, an error would appear. (Error 1606. Could not access network location %APPDATA%\.) I was able to install this software on another computer of mine, but it was running Windows XP, whereas this one here is Windows Vista. I don't understand why this is happening, and I would greatly appreciate maybe a thought of why or how I can finally install this software. Thanks~

I have a tablet and Corel Painter Essentials 3 question!? I have always used photoshop and drawn with a tablet and like how when I press light I get thin brush strokes, and when I press hard I get thick brush strokes. But I just got Corel Painter essentials recently and am having problems controlling the size of the brush with my pen tablet. It seems like it does not mater how hard or lightly I press on the pen, the line comes out to the same thickness and shape. How can I adjust the pen pressure on Corel Painter? And can I change the shape of the brush?

My Corel Painter Essentials 4 is unstable. What do I do? I like using it more than photoshop when it comes to sketching out a comic I'm working on just because it has less buttons I don't need and everything is pretty self explainable, but for some reason now every time I open it, it tells me its unstable, can't save my work, and has to close. The corel site wants my full name, credit card number, address and a whole lotta stuff I don't want to share. Is there any way I can fix this otherwise?

Corel Painter Essentials help? I am trying to do a drawing (I'm on the sketch part of it) and I want to select and drag. I use the lasso select tool, and I try to drag it, but it doesn't move the part of the picture, it just moves the selection. Am I doing it wrong? How do I do this please help!
