Paint Brushes? Cleaning brushes and rollers after painting a room is always a pain in the butt. What is the best/easiest way to clean them so that I don't have to keep buying new rollers each time I need to paint?
Paint brushes...? What is the best paint brush to buy when painting your kitchen cabinets. I dont mind spending the extra money for the best quality. I dont want any brush marks to show.

I have been painting my cabinets, how do I get primer off my paint brushes? I use hot water to wash them, but maybe there is a better, less taxing way? If this helps, I use the Artisan water-mixable oil colours. I also use rather cheap brushes, but I was given a nice brush set for Christmas so I want to take especially good care of them.
How can I get Polyurethane Gloss out of paint brushes? I'm staining my hardwood floors and using a Fast-Drying Polyurethane Clear Gloss for the finish/top coat. After putting the final coat down I let the brushes soak in a jar filled with paint thinner. So far they've been soaking for three days and it's still not coming off. I'd rather not buy new brushes if I don't have to. Is there anything else I can try to get it out of them?
Are our paint brushes still good? We're going to paint a couple rooms in our house next weekend so I was taking a look at what supplies we have and what we need to buy. I found a stack of paint brushes but the bristles are kinda crunchy. Are they still good? Should I soak or rinse them? Should I do that now or wait till the day we use them? What are the uses for the differently shaped paint brushes and different fibers used? I am new to painting and have learned everything I know the hard way, by trial and error. I use acrylic paints and I do like nylon fiber brushes. I don't know the correct names for the shaped brushes (I'd love to learn!) I don't know the suggested use of each brush and would like to know. And I would like to know how and why different materials are used for the brushes.
How do I get rid of that really bad smell from paint brushes...? It's that vomit-like smell from leaving them in water too long, and it's on quite a few of my paint brushes. I've soaked them in paint cleaners, washed them with soap and water, let them air-out, sprayed them with Febreeze...I'm just wondering if anyone knows any methods for de-stinking them. Is it possible to save paint brushes with dried oils on them? I kind of forgot about my three brushes after I walked away from my oil painting and now they are completely dry and hard. I soaked them in turpentine overnight but it didn't help at all. What do I do? Or is it a lost cause? Thanks fellow artists :)
Can soap be used to clean paint brushes? I'm talking about the brushes used for minature painting. I know that you have to keep the natural oils in the brush hairs to prevent damage, making chemical cleaners like washing up liquid bad for the brush, but would a bar of soap be acceptable? As an addition to this question: what's best for cleaning varnish from brushes? I've used white spirits in the past but was looking for something a little less harsh.

I have the paint, brushes and canvas; now what? I just bought some acrylic paint, some brushes (intended for oils or acrylics), and a 12" by 16" canvas.
