Paint rollers? I can't get the paint sleeve off the roller. Aren't they supposed to come off so you can re-use the wire thing underneath? Did I leave it on too long so it dried? What did I do wrong. How do you get rid of the old blotchy roller pad sleeve so you can put on a new one? Thanks.
Where can I get the paint rollers, like the ones they use on HGTV? The paint rollers look like they are the regular size in length but they aren't nearly as big around. I haven't seen them in any of the hardware stores I've been in. I don't know what they are called or I would Google them. Pro, you didn't say where this "any" hardware store is located. As I said, they don't carry them in the ones I've been in.
Best paint rollers, brushes, and paint for interior painting? I would like to paint some rooms in my 4 year old house. The rooms have the standard builder's white, flat paint right now. I have no experience painting. I would like to use brushes that are easy to use...I don't want to end up with little pieces of fabric in the dried paint, and I'd like a nice even coat. As a beginner, what brands/types of rollers/brushes should I use, and what interior paints are the best? Thanks!
Are there special paint rollers that leave texture? I am remodeling my kitchen and I textured the walls with a gun. I decided to leave the ceiling flat because it is straight without a lot of noticeable defects. There are some slight things I want to cover with some texture. Are there rollers available for this? Just wanting a light texture and do I need to use special paint?
How do I get rid of threads left by cheap paint rollers? When we bought our house we painted it. It was our first time painting so we made some mistakes. We used cheap rollers so now we have several areas on our walls that are covered in threads that came off the roller. I'm going to repaint over Christmas break. How do I get rid of these threads (i.e. sand, paint thinner, etc)?
Which last longer and which is better: spray paint, or rollers and brushes? I am going to paint a really really big fence soon... I have been recommended to use rollers and brushes because the paint supposedly lasts longer then spray paint. Is that true? which is better, rollers or a spray gun? which will last longer? i know spray paint is faster, but they want quality not speed.
Painting rooms in house, ideas on paint and brushes and rollers? My regular painter was supposed to come around Thanksgiving, still isn't returning calls, so I decided to attempt this on my own. I normally go to Sherwan Williams, but their hours are not convenient for me and I usually get home too late and have to wait for weekend, we have a new lowes store, so I thought I would try it there. Definitely don't want to do wal-mart or kmart. Is Lowe's going to offer a good paint? I believe they said Valspar is the best. They said that Martha, Eddie Bauer, etc. was not better you were just paying for the name. Also, how do I make sure I am getting good brushes and rollers that I won't regret it later? I've seen the rollers where you can put paint in the handle, do those work or save time or anything? thanks so much!
Foam paint rollers are they the same? I just had a look at screwfix website and they got 2 different brands of 4" foam rollers, the harris ones are £3.99 for 10 and the stanley ones are £6.89 for 10, as the price is a bit of a difference what is the difference between the 2 and what ones would be best to buy.
Can you put well rinsed paint brushes and rollers in a dishwasher? I like my painting supplies to be completely free of paint when I am finished with them, but it's impossible (at least for me) to get them that way. I let them soak in hot soapy water for at least an hour and that gets a lot of the paint out, but not at all of it. I know this probably sounds crazy, but can after they've soaked for an hour in the soapy water and released a lot of the paint, can you put them and only them (no dishes or eating utensils) into the dishwasher and run it to remove the remaining paint?
Will washing out Latex paint brushes/rollers down drain wreck a septic system? I am not talking about a lot of paint here. Have you EVER been in school and did painting with acrylic paints? What did your class do with the paint brushes and water containers? Throw them out? or WASH THEM? I am not asking an environmental question - it is simiply about the septic tank and messing it up. So will the paint break down in the septic too? It is FREEZING (burrrr) ou-ou-out s-s-s-side rignt now. If I do some painting I really don't want to run the icecubes out of the tap. ;)
how can i eliminate the lines from a paint roller on my walls? im painting walls in my family room a very dark red im using a high quality paint (benjamin moore) i first primed the walls with a tinted red primer just like your supposed to. After applying 2 coats it looked terrible (uneven coverage, and roller marks) iv'e painted many times before and never had this problem. Iv'e used every possible technique i could think of (the 'w' method 'n' method 'v' method ,diagonal strokes horizontal strokes etc, etc.) after about the 4th coat i began to get better coverage however when the paint dries there are visible vertical lines . Iv'e tried 1/4 inch nap rollers 1/2 inch and 3/8's but to no avail always the same result. I'm careful to make sure to blend each new sectoin of paint withe the previous so as to keep a wet edge until the wall is done but still the same result , this past sunday i painted the 8th coat with 1/4 inch roller and ended up with a few less lines but still too many noticable lines.
Where to get paint rollers ? Does somebody knows stores which sell paint rollers? I can't get them by internet because I don't have any time to look all over and to read tones of information. I hope that good guy wants to advise the online shop where data is short and proper. Your advice is appreciated.
What's the brand/name of this paint roller? I've seen this commercial where there's a paint roller. They say in the commercial that when it has paint on it, it sticks to the wall and not the roller. This way you won't have to push it as hard against the wall like other rollers. I can't remember what it's called. Do you know? Thanks! =)
how to clean paint rollers? im gonna be painting a few different colors within the next couple of weeks, how do i succesfully clean the paint rollers after each use? Thanks : D
How do I remove paint from my bathtub? I painted my apartment wall in a checker pattern with five different colors and constantly rinsed the paint rollers and pans in the tub between colors. Now the base of the tub is a red-orange-brown rainbow. I used interior latex flat paint from lowe's. How can I remove it? I tried scrubbing with water and a towel but it didn't work.
Have you used a power roller to paint? The kind where the power roller keeps the roller covered with paint through a tube so you don't have to keep dipping your paint roller in the pan. How easy are they to use? Are they better than just using the old fashion roller? Do they give you better coverage? etc.
How do you wash a paint roller? I know this sounds like a ridiculous question but I'm actually serious :) I ran warm water over the roller for about 15 minutes and I was squeezing it at the same time. But there is still paint in the roller. Am I doing something wrong? How clean does it need to be?
What sound does a paint roller make? I am writing a series of descriptive paragraphs for my Composition class. My problem is, I cannot come up with a way to describe the way a paint roller sounds. Please help. The paper is not that important, but I cannot let this description go to the way side. The simple question is this: What sound does a paint roller make?
