Paint Stripper?

Cany anyone recommend a home made version of paint stripper? I'm in the middle of a project and ran out of the stuff in the spray can. I thought before I go out and buy more, I would check with all of you.

1. A heat gun and putty knife should do the trick. Use the heat gun to heat the surface so that its gets hot enough to scrap off with the putty knife.
