Can I use paint stripper on a laminate desk?

I have a cheap laminate over particle board desk that my husband painted. The paint keeps chipping off all over! Can I use a paint stripper to remove the paint without ruining the laminate?

1. yes, if you prime the surface with an epoxy primer it would adhere. the better resolution is to re-laminate. that is: remove existing or bond to. depending on peeling. you don't want to put a new product on de-laminating surface. if you remove old laminate prepare surface before applying new.
